Dictionary of Tantric Terms

Tantra - Tantra: Sanskrit word, "to weave, to expand consciousness". Spiritual teachings and practices originating in India.

Amrita - "Nectar of the Goddess"; female ejaculate. Liquid secreted when the woman's G-Spot is activated through Sacred Spot Massage.

Chakras - Seven energy centers of the body, starting from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each located along the spinal column. (see diagram bottom of the page) Chakras transform energy to higher frequencies.

Daka - Embodiment of Shiva, male consort/lover to Shakti Goddess of feminine sexual power. A Daka serves the feminine through pleasure and healing. Teacher of the Sacred Sexual Arts.

Dakini - Embodiment of Shakti, Goddess of the Sacred Feminine Sexuality. A force of nature. Priestess/Teacher of the Sacred Sexual Arts. Serves the Goddess for the bigger love.

Kundalini - Root word "kunda" means a pool or reservoir of energy. Located at the base of the spine, this serpent energy when awoken moves up the spine, the subtle body, to the third eye, higher centers of the brain. When the Kundalini is properly channeled this way, one can achieve cosmic consciousness.

Lingam - Male sexual organ, penis. A symbol of the Lord Shiva, God of transcendence. "Wand of light".

Mantra - A spiritual chant, words or sounds with mystical power used to focus the mind and body to a higher frequency. Used in Tantric practice to channel energy.

Mudras - Hand and body gestures used to channel and focus energies in the subtle energy body. Bringing a higher awareness to our body, mind and enhance lovemaking.

Namaste - "I bow to the light that resides within you." A statement, greeting given to acknowledge ones spiritual connection with another person.

Tantric Puja - Sacred ritual of Tantric sexual practice. Honoring and celebrating the sacred feminine and masculine dance of pleasure and ecstasy. A powerful form of worship.

Shakti - The feminine creative power. Sexually based. Divine Mother. The Goddess Shakti and her consort Lord Shiva.

Shiva - Supreme Yogi. Consort to the Goddess Shakti. Penetrating focused masculine sexual energy.

Yang - Active. Masculine. Positive male principal.

Yin - Feminine. Negative female principal. Receptive.

Yoga - "To join together". Union.

Yoni - Vagina. Female sex organ.
